We understand that your privacy is important to you and it is our duty under The Data Protection Act 1998 and the new GDPR regulations to inform you of how we intend to use your personal information once you have visited our website or made contact with us.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Each time you visit our website, some data about the type of device you are using, your location, the time you are visiting, and your computer IP address is automatically collected by our website cookies software system. As you continue to browse our website, cookies help us to gather information about what pages you visit, how long you view each page, and how you interact with our website.

We also like to see how you have come across our website, what search terms you have used in the search engine and what products and services you are looking at. This is known as “browsing information” and is not associated with an identifiable person.

Additionally, when you first make contact with A Special Occasion we will take some basic information that allows us to be able to provide you with a quote. This includes your name, email address, wedding date, and venue location. Once you confirm with ourselves you would like to place a booking we will then also require an address and contact telephone number.

HOW WE USE THIS INFORMATION

We use your basic information to respond to your queries and provide you with an initial quote. If you decide to book with us your contact telephone number and postal address will be used should we need to contact you regarding your wedding. All emails and messages are stored for as long as practical to ensure we have all the information needed to provide you with a better service.

We use the browsing information we gather automatically from our website to review our marketing campaigns, to predict the best time to share new information with you and to decide what information will be most useful to you.

We keep the information collected for a minimum of 6 years to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to inform the HMRC if requested or other lawful requests for information we receive. We also keep this information should we need to protect our rights in a court of law.

SHARING YOUR DATA

Your data is for our use only and will not be shared with any other companies, or third parties. Under extreme circumstances where we are unable to attend we may need to share your information with trusted suppliers, this would be done so with your consent.

PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 16

Our services are aimed at people over the age of 16, however, if you are contacting us on behalf of someone else you must have permission from your parent or guardian.

ACCESS TO YOUR DATA

You have the right to ask for a copy of any of your personal data held by us (where such data is held). Under the GDPR, no fee is payable and we will provide any and all information in response to your request free of charge.
